FIELD: information storage medium.
SUBSTANCE: The invention relates to an information storage medium and a method for long-term storage of information. The technical result increases the data storage time by creating a data storage medium with increased resistance to degradation under the environment impact. The claimed method comprises steps that: provide a ceramic substrate; cover the ceramic substrate with a layer of a second material other than the material of the ceramic substrate, and this layer has a thickness of no more than 10 microns; release the coated ceramic substrate to form a recordable plate or disk; encode information on the recordable plate or disk using a laser and/or focused a particle beam for controlling localized areas of a recordable plate or disk.
EFFECT: The present invention enables to increase the data storage time.
