FIELD: environmental protection and industrial ecology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of environmental protection and industrial ecology and can be used in oil production, oil refining, production and storage of oil fuel hydrocarbons and in the elimination of emergency spills of oil and oil products. The sorbent for water purification from oil and its fuel hydrocarbons consists of a porous matrix hydrophobized with technical paraffin. Foam rubber with a bulk density of 0.02 g/cm3 is used as a porous elastic matrix.
EFFECT: reusable hydrophobic sorbent is provided, which makes it possible to purify water from oil and from its fuel hydrocarbons until the complete disappearance of the oil film on the water surface, which has a high sorption capacity.
