SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to an aerosol generating device and to an aerosol generating system. The aerosol generating device contains: a case containing an end wall; a cavity located with the possibility of detachable placement of an aerosol generating product in it; a hole at least partially formed with the specified case, passing through the first section of the specified end wall, located at an end of the specified cavity, and intended for insertion of the aerosol generating product into the specified cavity through the specified hole; an a cover element made with the possibility of rotary movement relatively to the case. The specified cover element is made with the possibility of rotation between a closed position, in which the cover element completely covers the specified hole, and an open position, in which the specified hole is completely open, and the cover element lies above the second section of the specified end wall. The specified cover element contains a cover part and a rod part passing orthogonally from the cover part. The cover part is made with the possibility of complete coverage of the specified hole, when the cover element is in the closed position. The specified rod part is placed inside the specified case.

EFFECT: provision of retention of an aerosol generating device and manipulation with a cover element, using one hand, with reduction in the risk of damage to the cover element.
