SUBSTANCE: invention relates to devices simulating the tobacco smoking process. Aerosol-generating system comprises an aerosol-generating article comprising an aerosol-forming substrate rod, and a filter located downstream of the aerosol-forming substrate rod. Aerosol-forming substrate rod and the filter are assembled inside the wrapper. Aerosol-generating article comprises a ventilation zone located on the wrapper. Ventilation zone comprises multiple holes passing through wrapper. Aerosol-generating device has a distal end and a mouthpiece end and comprises a body having a peripheral wall. Peripheral wall forms a cavity of the device for placement of the aerosol-generating article with possibility of its removal at the mouth end of the device. When the aerosol generating article is placed inside the cavity of the device, ventilation zone of the aerosol generating article is located inside the cavity and part of the inner surface of the peripheral wall covering the ventilation zone is spaced from the aerosol generating article, to form a ventilation chamber inside the peripheral wall. Ventilation chamber is made with possibility of fluid communication with external part of aerosol-generating device, through mouth end of device and ventilation zone of aerosol-generating article. Air is provided with the possibility of entering the ventilation chamber through the mouth end of the aerosol generating device, when the aerosol-generating article is placed inside the cavity of the device. Thickness of the part of the peripheral wall forming the ventilation chamber differs from the thickness of the other part of the peripheral wall.
EFFECT: increased efficiency of aerosol cooling and prevention of ventilation zone overlapping.
