SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to an aerosol generating device containing a mechanism of an element in the form of a cover and an aerosol generating system. The device contains the first case and the second case. The second case is made with the possibility of movement relatively to the first case. The device also contains a cavity for accommodation of an aerosol generating product and a hole at least partially limited with the second case. The hole is located at an end of the cavity for insertion of the aerosol generating product into the cavity. The aerosol generating device also contains an element in the form of a cover, made with the possibility of movement relatively to the second case between a closed position, in which the element in the form of the cover at least partially closes the hole, and an open position, in which the hole is at least partially opened. The aerosol generating device contains a mechanism for latching, made with the possibility of retention of the element in the form of the cover in the open position. The mechanism is made with the possibility of release of the element in the form of the cover, when the second case is moved relatively to the first case. The aerosol generating device also contains a mechanism for closing, made with the possibility of movement of the element in the form of the cover from the open position to the closed position, when the mechanism for latching releases the element in the form of the cover.

EFFECT: simple and reliable operation of an element in the form of a cover in an aerosol generating device.
