METHOD FOR DIAGNOSING SEVERE PSEUDOMEMBRANOUS COLITIS IN PATIENTS AFTER CORONAVIRUS INFECTION Russian patent published in 2022 - IPC A61B10/04 A61B8/12 G01N33/68 G01N33/573 G01N33/497

Abstract RU 2786752 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to clinical and laboratory diagnostics, and can be used to diagnose severe pseudomembranous colitis in patients who have had a coronavirus infection. The concentration of zonulin and alpha-1 antitrypsin in the feces of patients is determined and a hydrogen breath test is performed. At a concentration of zonulin of 400-500 ng/ml, a concentration of alpha-1 antitrypsin of 310-450 mcg/g and a hydrogen breath test at a hydrogen concentration of up to 42-88 ppm and a methane concentration of 27-67 ppm, severe pseudomembranous colitis is diagnosed in patients who have undergone coronavirus infection.

EFFECT: method provides an opportunity to increase the efficiency of early diagnosis of severe pseudomembranous colitis in patients who have had a coronavirus infection by determining the concentration of zonulin and alpha-1 antitrypsin in the feces of patients and performing a hydrogen breath test.
