FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: method for returning fallow lands to agricultural use consists in cutting the stems of high-stemmed weeds into fractions. Before performing this operation, the plant mass is laid on the field surface with maximum compaction of the topsoil. Laying is carried out in one direction over the entire field area. Stems are cut by ring-cutting working bodies in the form of conical rings in the direction perpendicular to the direction of the stacked stems. The invention also relates to a device for implementing the method, which includes working bodies in the form of conical rings having a contact cutting edge with a sharpening angle of 15-20 degrees.
EFFECT: invention reduces the energy intensity of the process of cutting tall weeds.
