FIELD: nanochemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to nanochemistry and can be used in the manufacture of contrast agents for the diagnosis of malignant neoplasms by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), magnetic separation, hyperthermia, targeted drug delivery. As the initial solution, iron (III) acetylacetonate dissolved in benzyl alcohol with a concentration of 31-42 g/l and cobalt (II) acetylacetonate with a concentration of 3-12 g/l are used. The resulting solution is heated in an inert gas atmosphere in two stages: first to 50°C at a heating rate of 0.5°C/min for 50 minutes, then for 6-8 hours at a rate of 15-30°C/h to a temperature 160-205°C with exposure for 0.5-10 hours at the reached temperature. The mixture is cooled in the presence of an inert gas, then acetone is added and the resulting cobalt ferrite nanoparticles are separated by centrifugation or magnetic decantation. The powder is monodisperse and consists of nanoparticles, the shape of which is close to spherical.
EFFECT: magnetic properties of cobalt ferrite nanoparticles are improved by increasing their coercive force by 1.5 times.
