FIELD: sensor technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the development of sulfide compounds of lutetium and manganese, which can be used as components of sensor technology, magnetic memory and to create cooling devices based on the Ettingshausen effect. Lutetium-manganese sulfide with a giant longitudinal Nernst-Ettingshausen effect includes components in the following ratio, in wt.%: lutetium 5÷0, manganese 45÷30, sulfur 50.
EFFECT: obtaining compounds of lutetium-manganese sulfides with a face-centered cubic NaCl-type lattice, which have a giant change in thermoelectric power in a wide range of temperatures and magnetic fields.
