FIELD: oil exploration.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for field-geophysical research in oil and gas wells, in particular to methods for recording acoustic noise in the well. In accordance with the proposed method for borehole acoustic noise logging, a noise meter containing a traveling wave detector is moved along the borehole, providing the possibility of simultaneous measurement in at least three points along the axis of the noise meter of the total acoustic noise, which is the sum of acoustic signals coming from sources of useful noise when the traveling wave detector is in close proximity to sources of useful noise in the borehole, and acoustic signals from traveling waves coming from noise sources, traveling waves remote from the detector along the borehole at a distance at which the noise generated by remote sources at the detector location is traveling waves. In the process of moving the noise meter, the total acoustic noise is measured and the measured acoustic noise is processed, which consists in isolating acoustic signals from sources of useful noise by suppressing traveling waves, which ensures the detection of the location of sources of useful noise.

EFFECT: increase in the resolution and reduction in the time of borehole acoustic noise logging by providing, during the movement of acoustic sensors, the possibility of isolating useful noise against the background of road noise and continuous detection of sources of useful noise in the wellbore.
