FIELD: images encoding.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to means for encoding images. Image information including residual information is obtained via a bitstream. Reconstructed luminance signal samples and restored chrominance signal samples are generated based on the residual information. The adaptive loop filtering (ALF) coefficients are extracted for the ALF process of the reconstructed chrominance samples. Filtered reconstructed chrominance signal samples are formed based on the reconstructed chrominance signal samples and ALF filter coefficients. Cross-component filter coefficients are then extracted for cross-component filtering. Modified filtered reconstructed samples of chrominance signals are formed based on the restored samples of luminance signals, filtered restored samples of chrominance signals and coefficients of the cross-component filter. The image information includes a sequence parameter set (SPS) and slice header information. The SPS includes an ALF activation flag related to whether the ALF process is activated or not.
