FIELD: therapeutic and preventive medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to therapeutic and preventive medicine, in particular to methods for air sanitation in a room, using volatile substances of phytoncidal plants as sanitizing agents. The method for air sanitation in a room includes placement of evergreen deciduous plants capable of producing phytoncides in a room, according to biological requirements to illumination, and timely care of plants, including their watering. Evergreen room plants are selected taking into account the absence of their antagonistic allelopathic effect on each other. Plants having high phytoncidal activity and neutralizing air pollutants of different origin, and producing oxygen are placed in the form of phyto-modules in amount of 0.4-1.33 m² of a leaf surface per 100 m³ (from 0.7 to 2.4 m² of a leaf surface per an actual area of a room of experimental group cells) with illumination in the range of 800-2500 lux.

EFFECT: provision of air sanitation in a room, using room plants, as well as increase in the efficiency of air sanitation due to optimization of conditions increasing stimulation of growth, phytoncidal activity of plants, and their capability of purifying air from harmful substances.
