FIELD: welding.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a technology for welding longitudinal and circumferential seams of products made of carbon and low-alloy structural steels with a thickness of 4.0 to 30.0 mm. A flux paste is applied to the surfaces to be welded in the form of a coating of Y2O3 or CaO powder with a grain size of up to 39 μm, diluted in alcohol in a mass ratio of 1:3. A coating is obtained with an oxide deposition density of 0.045-0.055 g/cm2 and a relative mass concentration of oxide in the weld pool melt zone equal to 1.8-2.2%. Welding is carried out in a mixture of protective gases, consisting of 82 vol.% argon and 18 vol.% carbon dioxide.
EFFECT: increasing the range of permissible deviations of the specified parameters of the welding process without deteriorating the mechanical properties of the welded joint for products with a thickness of 4-30 mm.
