FIELD: testing equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrified transport and can be used in traction energy systems, the 2×25 kV system, for fault location (FL) of the contact network and the supply wire. Essence: according to the measured minimum voltages of the autotransformers, the point of fault in the traction network is determined. The difference of the total values of the reactive power of the short circuit from two adjacent autotransformers of the power supply of the point of fault and the losses of the total reactive power in the wires of the contact network, the supply wire and the rails is used as a criterion of the FL, and this difference is zero at the point of the short circuit. When the traction network is homogeneous when calculating the FL between autotransformers, the calculation of the short circuit point is performed unambiguously according to the proposed formula. When calculating the FL between the traction substation and the nearest autotransformer, where the traction network is heterogeneous, the method for successive approximations is used.
EFFECT: increased accuracy of determining the point of fault.
