METHOD FOR DETERMINING THE LOCATION OF A SHORT CIRCUIT IN THE AC CONTACT NETWORK OF A 25 kV SYSTEM Russian patent published in 2023 - IPC G01R31/08

Abstract RU 2790576 C1

FIELD: electrified transport.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrified transport and can be used in AC traction power supply systems to determine the distance to a short circuit (SC) in an AC contact network of a multi-track section with a sectioning post (SP). The method is based on the use of emergency mode parameters by measuring the voltage on the sectioning post buses, the currents of the contact network of the damaged and undamaged tracks in one direction and their phase angles, and calculating the reactive power of the damaged traction network. At the same time, the approximate distance to the short circuit point is first determined, assuming the traction network is homogeneous. To do this, they are given the initial value of the distance and, using the method for successive approximations, determine the location of the short circuit as a result of a systematic calculation of the difference in the sum of the reactive power of the short circuit supply from the substation and from the supply adjacent substation and the sum of reactive power losses in the damaged traction network. At a zero value of this difference, the place of the short circuit is approximately determined. After determining the approximate distance, the calculation is performed for a real non-uniform traction network according to the same algorithm, starting from the calculated approximate distance.

EFFECT: simplifying and improving the accuracy of determining the distance to the fault location.
