SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of photonics and microelectronics, namely to an optical synapse, which simulates a biological synapse; it can be used in modules intended for creation of elements of optical computing system, neuromorphic systems, and devices of completely photonic memory. In the optical synapse simulating the biological synapse, consisting of an input optical signal source, an output optical signal receiver, and a control optical signal source, signal source and receiver are connected to a planar signal waveguide, on a surface of which one or more optically active zones are made, formed with phase-changing material of a chalcogenide group, perpendicular to which the control signal source is installed, wherein the planar waveguide is placed on substrate.

EFFECT: invention provides simplification of a structure, while operating only optical signals.
