SUBSTANCE: in the proposed laser sensor for determining the presence of carbon dioxide (CO2), which consists of a pump source, a transparent substrate, a thin-film laser-active medium, which is a film of polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) doped with a laser-active chemical, an adhesive layer is located between the laser-active medium the transparent substrate, which provides the waveguide propagation of the generation radiation and adhesion of polymethyl methacrylate to the transparent substrate, Nile red dye (NR) is used as a laser-active chemical substance, and carbon dioxide (CO2) present in the analysed medium is used as an analyte.
EFFECT: remote contactless transmission of information about the presence of CO2, expansion of a number of sensitive chemical compounds to CO2.
