FIELD: chemical industry.
SUBSTANCE: method for the production of ammonia of hydrocarbon raw materials includes reforming of hydrocarbon raw materials for obtainment of make-up gas and conversion of make-up gas into ammonia. The method is implemented on an installation for the production of ammonia, which needs certain electrical power for operation and start power Ps for provision of start. The first electrical power P1 is generated on the ammonia installation, and the second electrical power P2 is imported from an electrical power source, which is outer to the specified installation. The second electrical power P2 is equal to or greater than start power Ps. An installation for the production of ammonia of hydrocarbon raw materials and its operation method are also proposed.
EFFECT: inventions allow for an increase in the efficiency of consumption of electricity, when starting an installation for the production of ammonia.
