SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a process for producing ammonia from hydrocarbon material, which corresponds to an apparatus and a method of reconstructing such apparatus. Method comprises steps of: Reforming the hydrocarbon feedstock to the crude gas obtained, which requires heat influx, purification of the crude obtained gas to obtain make-up synthesis gas and conversion of synthesis gas to ammonia, which includes conversion of carbon monoxide shift to carbon dioxide. Said heat influx for the reforming process is at least partially provided by recuperation from at least one of: shift conversion performed at a maximum temperature of at least 450 °C, and conversion into ammonia.
EFFECT: technical result consists in reduction of metal dust formation, which leads to subsequent corrosion and reduced service life of reactor.
