FIELD: charged particle accelerators.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of charged particle accelerators, and in particular to methods for obtaining beams of multiply charged ions. According to the method, the working substance is placed in an evaporator, where, upon reaching the temperature of the evaporator necessary for the evaporation of the working substance, it is evaporated and sent to the ionization chamber of the ion source, the evaporated working substance is converted into singly charged ions, and then injected into the ECR plasma of the source of multiply charged ions along the axis of the cylindrical chamber into in the form of a directed flow of singly charged ions with an energy of 1±0.2 eV and an anisotropic angular distribution of particles with an angular divergence of no more than ±0.2°.
EFFECT: increase in the intensity of the beam of extracted ions while maintaining the consumption of the substance and an increase in the efficiency of the use of the substance.
