FIELD: image processing.
SUBSTANCE: deblocking filter device, coder, decoder, and corresponding methods perform deblocking filtration with an available linear buffer. It is determined, whether a horizontal edge of a block is overlapped with a boundary of a horizontal coding tree block (hereinafter – CTB). If the horizontal edge of the block is overlapped with the boundary of the horizontal CTB, no more than MA values of a sample of the first image block adjacent to the edge of the block are modified, and no more than MB values of a sample of the second image block adjacent to the edge of the block are modified, in which MA ≠ MB.
EFFECT: effective smoothing of a horizontal edge of a chromaticity block with blocking artefacts, while a linear buffer is reduced for a scenario, in which the horizontal edge of the block, between image blocks, is overlapped with a boundary of a horizontal CTB, which provides effective removal of blocking artefacts.
