FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the chemical technology of mineral salts and can be used in the chemical industry. Method for producing ammonium bromide from bromine-bearing polycomponent hydromineral source materials includes the following stages: two-stage oxidation of bromide ions with gaseous chlorine with brine acidification, air desorption of elemental bromine, absorption thereof with a cooled solution of ammonium bromide, and reduction with an ammonia solution. The resulting ammonium bromide concentrate is evaporated until crystals are deposited. The crystals of ammonium bromide are dried, and the mother solution is used to produce an ammonium bromide solution as a marketable product.
EFFECT: eliminated stage of purifying the bromine and air mixture from chlorine, maintained high indicators of purity of the end products and high degree of extraction of bromine.
