FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemical engineering, particularly to a method of extracting bromine in form of a bromide concentrate from polycomponent hydromineral raw material of the chlorine-calcium type by an electrolytic method. Method involves oxidation of bromide to elemental bromine with chlorine, obtained by anodic decomposition of a metal chloride salt in two two-chamber electrolytic cells, separation of bromine from the anolyte by stripping into the catholyte as the carrier phase, extracting bromine from the carrier phase by contacting it with the recycled catholyte, which is then fed into the first — main — electrolytic cell, in which bromine is reduced on cathode with extraction of metal bromide of like chloride salt. At that, stripping of bromine from the anolyte is carried out in a plant, which includes at least 2 columns for countercurrent stripping, which are connected in series, stripping air is supplied to the columns in order from the first column to the last column, and the anolyte is supplied to the columns in the order from the last column to the first column.

EFFECT: reduced losses of bromine, increased stability of process operation in continuous mode due to solution of problems of precipitation of metal hydroxides on cathode of the second electrolysis unit.
