FIELD: thermoplastic polymer compositions.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a thermoplastic polymer composition that can be used as light absorbing and reflective films. The thermoplastic polymer composition contains a polycarbonate and from about 10 to about 1000 ppm of one or more benzofuranone stabilizers of formula I
where R1-R5 are presented in paragraph 1 of the claims. The weight ratio of polycarbonate to benzofuranone stabilizers is from about 4.25:1 to about 1.58:1.
EFFECT: resulting composition is more protected from the harmful effects of heat, light and oxygen, which leads to yellowing, loss of transparency and loss of gloss.
