FIELD: instrumentation.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of instrumentation and can be used in testing rotary tables (hereinafter - RT). A method for checking the errors of the RT circular scale, in which the multifaceted prism (hereinafter - MFP) is set on the RT spindle to the initial position relative to the autocollimator (hereinafter - AC), and the spindle is set to the initial position relative to the RT scale; the MFP is attached to the RT spindle; the angles of rotation of the spindle in a turn are set; RT and AC of each of the given angles are measured, while a measurement cycle is performed - angles are set with an interval of 360°/n in the range of 360°, and after measuring PS and AC of each of the spindle rotation angles, the MFP is attached to the RT spindle; according to the results of measurements of all angles of rotation of the spindle, the values of the measurement error of angles are calculated based on the difference in the readings of RT and AC, k measurement cycles are performed, after the completion of each cycle, the MFP is unfastened and set on the RT spindle to a position relative to the AC, rotated relative to the initial position of the MFP by a new angle, a multiple of 360°/n, and the systematic errors of the scale at angles j are calculated as the arithmetic mean of the obtained error values.
