FIELD: metrology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of metrology and instrumentation and can be used in testing of azimuthal rotary tables (RT). In a method for determining the error of an azimuthal rotary table (RT), based on a comparison of horizontal flat angles of rotation of the PS with the angles of an exemplary polyhedral prism (PP), in which the PS and the autocollimator (AC) are installed on a massive base; the PP is installed on the axis of the rotary table in the basing device; the prism is adjusted, according to the invention, a control mirror (CM) is installed on the PS body, it is placed perpendicular to the optical axis of the AC, minimizing the AC readings, and the CM is fixed; the first face of the PP is selected and two measurement cycles are performed, in each cycle rotations are made in the positive direction, the AC is directed to the first face of the PP, readings of the collimator angles are taken from the prism and mirror, and from the angle sensor RT, a turn is performed in the negative direction, the AC is directed to the first face of the PP, similarly taking readings, getting differences of the angles of the prism from the angle sensor and the collimator, and the difference in the angles of the mirror from the collimator, the deformation of the RT body is determined by comparing the differences obtained.

EFFECT: determination of the error of the rotary table caused by the torsion deformation of the table body.
