FIELD: woodworking waste processing.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of woodworking waste processing, and in particular to methods for producing solid charcoal from biomass, and can be used for the production of charcoal for hookahs. First, the woody biomass is crushed and sifted, then subjected to thermal decomposition by heating to a temperature of 400-450°C and thermal catalysis by subsequent heating to a temperature of 600°C and holding at the temperature of thermal catalysis, after holding the coal is cooled and crushed to a fraction from 0.5 to 1 .2 mm. The crushed coal is mixed with tapioca by dry mixing, after which water is added to the resulting mixture at a temperature of 80-90°C at a ratio of coal powder, tapioca and water 51:43:6, then the resulting mixture is molded into briquettes and the resulting briquettes are quenched at a temperature of 120- 140°C when heated at a rate not exceeding 7°C/min and kept at this temperature for 60 minutes, followed by cooling to a temperature not exceeding 80°C with the possibility of intensifying the drying process and the chemical process of solidification of the mixture of coal and binders.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to produce hookah charcoal from woody biomass with a low volatile matter yield and high performance properties.
