FIELD: radio engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention allows creating broadband amplifiers with a uniform amplitude-frequency response designed to work with sinusoidal, quasi-sinusoidal, and narrowband signals. To this end, a method for amplifying signals is proposed, which consists in continuous monitoring of the frequency of the input amplified signal and correction, based on the results of measuring the frequency, the gain of the controlled amplifying unit so that the gain remains constant when the frequency of the input sinusoidal or quasi-sinusoidal signal changes. This is possible with a priori known form of the amplitude-frequency characteristic of the amplifying unit, information about which is used to convert the measured frequency into gain control signals. Devices that implement the method are also proposed.
EFFECT: reduced frequency distortion that occurs when amplifying sinusoidal and quasi-sinusoidal signals in a relatively wide frequency band.
