SUBSTANCE: in functional diagnostics it can be used to determine the stroke volume of the heart. The pulse wave is registered using a pressure sensor covering the shoulder at an occlusal pressure in the cuff equal to the mean arterial blood pressure. The stroke volume of the heart Va is determined as , where Sa is the cross-sectional area of the aorta, L - the width of the pneumochamber of the cuff, is the average value of the pressure of the pulse wave over the period of time from the beginning of the pulse wave to the dicrotic rise, Pmax is the maximum value of the pulse wave pressure.

EFFECT: method allows to determine the stroke volume of the heart using the usual technical means by assessing the totality of the most significant indicators.
