FIELD: 1,1-dialloxyethane production.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method for producing 1,1-dialloxyethane, which can be used as a solvent for reactions, as an active component of chemical compositions, and also as a starting material for the production of glycidyl ethers, polymers and other organic compounds. The method consists in treating allyl alcohol with a mixture of paraldehyde and para-toluenesulfonic acid in the presence of calcium chloride at a molar ratio of paraldehyde: allyl alcohol: para-toluenesulfonic acid: calcium chloride 1: (5.7–6): (0.043–0.085): (0.29 –0.57) at 50–60°C for 3–4 h with stirring, followed by filtration and fractional distillation.
EFFECT: obtaining the target product in a simple and efficient way using minimal amounts of commercially available and non-toxic reagents.
