FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of producing ethylene polymerisation catalysts of general formula 1:
where substituent R is hydrogen or alkyl fragments, substituent RF is a polyfluorophenyl fragment containing from 1 to 5 fluorine atoms in an aromatic ring. Method involves using solution of 4-tert-butylstyrene in a hydrocarbon solvent (alkylating solution) at the phenol alkylation step obtained by dehydration of α-(4-tert-butylphenyl)ethanol in the presence of an acid catalyst. Positive economic and technological effect is achieved due to absence of necessity to extract 4-tert-butylstyrene in pure form. Sodium hydroxide and the corresponding phenol alkylation product are used to stabilize the alkylating solution.
EFFECT: method enables to eliminate the step of extracting and purifying 4-tert-butylstyrene and avoiding the expensive commercially available reagent, which increases the economic efficiency of the catalyst production process and enables its scaling, and also eliminates the need to introduce additional stabilizing additives and contamination of reagents with foreign impurities.
