FIELD: sugar industry.
SUBSTANCE: method for purification of refined syrup with a solids content of 62.0-67.0% from coloring substances is proposed, which involves mixing it with a sorbent, holding the resulting mixture, and then separating the sorbent. Before mixing the syrup with the sorbent, 1.0-3.0% by weight of ethyl alcohol with a concentration of 95.0-97.0% is added into the syrup and mixed to destroy the hydration shells of the dye molecules contained in the syrup, while the dyes are products of caramelization of sucrose, products of melanoidin formation and products of alkaline decomposition of reducing substances.
EFFECT: increasing the effect of discoloration of refined syrups.
