FIELD: material processing.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a device and a method for defatting a steel stripe. The device includes an ultrasound alkaline purification bath, an ultrasound washing bath, and a spraying purification bath, connected in series. Ultrasound alkaline purification, ultrasound washing, and spraying purification baths are equipped with pulling rollers for transportation of a steel stripe. A front section of the ultrasound alkaline purification bath is a section for spraying purification with an alkaline solution, equipped with nozzles for spraying the alkaline solution, and a rear section of the ultrasound alkaline purification bath is an ultrasound purification section equipped with ultrasound vibrators. Ultrasound vibrators are also provided inside the ultrasound washing bath. Ultrasound vibrators are located above and under the stripe, or on a sidewall of the bath and are connected to an ultrasound generator. Nozzles for spraying hot water are provided in the spraying purification bath, and water flows from the spraying purification bath to the ultrasound washing bath.

EFFECT: improvement of the quality of a surface of a steel stripe.
