SUBSTANCE: invention relates to biotechnology and provides a ferrochelatase variant with ferrochelatase activity comprising the amino acid sequence represented by SEQ ID NO: 1, wherein glycine, which is an amino acid corresponding to position 137 in SEQ ID NO: 3, is substituted for asparagic acid. The invention also relates to a method for producing L-tryptophan comprising an Escherichia coli microorganism cultivation in medium, the Escherichia coli contains a ferrochelatase variant or a polynucleotide encoding this variant.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to obtain L-tryptophan with high efficiency degree.
