SUBSTANCE: distribution element and/or a collector element for uniform distribution of a first fluid medium, such as a liquid, over a sectional plane, for example, along the sectional plane of a mass transfer column, while the second main fluid medium, for example a gas, flows through the distribution element in direct flow and/or counter flow relative to the first fluid medium, and the distribution element contains at least two levels separated from each other by fractal plates containing holes and passages, each level contains channels through which the second main fluid in direct flow and/or counter flow relative to the first fluid medium must flow, and there are one or more flow paths between channels through which the first fluid medium can flow, with the number of holes increasing from the uppermost fractal plate to the lowermost fractal plate, and the channels through which the second main fluid medium is to flow are fluid-tight, separated from one of all or several hollow spaces by walls, forming paths for fluid medium through which the first fluid medium can flow, and wherein each of the fluid medium paths has at least substantially the same length, and substantially the same length means that the length of each of the fluid medium paths of the level does not differ from the length of any other fluid medium path of the same level by more than 20%.

EFFECT: ensuring uniform distribution of the first fluid medium with a high distribution density along the sectional plane or uniform collection of the first fluid medium distributed over the surface of the sectional plane, in particular, along the sectional plane of the mass transfer column, while it essentially does not interfere with the flow of the second fluid medium through this plane, while the element is easy to manufacture and easy to operate.
