SUBSTANCE: determination of the decorativeness of facing materials and decorative concrete products. The claimed method for determining the decorativeness of facing materials and decorative concrete products includes the study of facing materials in terms of decorativeness: colour, including the determination of signs of decorativeness - colour, saturation, lightness, uniformity of tone and combination of colours; texture, including signs of decorativeness - pattern, structure and translucency; texture, including a sign of decorativeness - polishing, and establishing the class of decorativeness of the facing material by comparing the arithmetic mean of the decorativeness with the classification of the decorativeness of the facing material and decorative concrete products: highly decorative - more than 32 points; decorative 23-32 points; poorly decorative 15-22 points; non-decorative - less than 15 points. The indicator of decorative colour is additionally determined by contrast, divided into high, estimated at 4-5 points, medium, estimated at 2-3 points, and weak, estimated at 1-2 points, by conducting an instrumental study, including the creation of a set of colour scales according to the characteristics of decorativeness of the colour index, obtaining an image using a digital camera of a sample of the facing material along with a colour scale at an intensity of the emitted light flux per sample of 400 cd, importing the resulting image into an image processing program for quantitative determination of the colour characteristics of the facing material using the Munsell colorimetric system.

EFFECT: determination of the decorativeness of facing materials and products made of decorative concrete by means of instrumental studies, which eliminates the subjectivity of the assessment of decorativeness in connection with the individual sensory perception of the experts of the evaluation commission.
