FIELD: material processing.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of thermochemical restoration of corroded steel surfaces with simultaneous disposal of thermoplastic waste; it can be used in different industries and economy for elongation of a steel equipment resource. A corroded surface of a product is processed with polymer with its following thermo-destruction, which is carried out at temperatures of steel surface restoration of 450-800°C, with repeated processing, if necessary, with polymer of a steel surface of the product precooled to a temperature of no more than 100°C, and repetition of the cycle: polymer – heating – cooling, until complete restoration of the corroded steel surface. In this case, as polymer, thermoplastics are used, obtained by polymerization of aliphatic row monomers, with the total thickness of a polymer layer of no more than 3 mm.
EFFECT: invention allows for restoration of oxide films of corroded steel surfaces, using, as a reductant, carbon obtained as an intermediate product in oxidative pyrolysis of high-tonnage thermoplastic waste.
