METHOD FOR PERCUTANEOUS INSERTION OF PINS INTO THE FEMORAL NECK Russian patent published in 2023 - IPC A61B17/58

Abstract RU 2791642 C1

FIELD: medical technology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, in particular to orthopaedics and traumatology and can be used to treat fractures of the femoral neck. Percutaneous method of introducing a pin into the femoral neck, which consists in introducing a pin through the skin into the neck of the femur, performing x-ray control, indenting the pin over the skin, bringing the pin fully into the femoral neck, breaking the pin at the bone by rocking movements of the distal part of the pin and removing the broken distal end of the pin. Before indenting the pin, a ligating clamp is placed on the pin at the place of penetration through skin and X-ray control is carried out. The depth of insertion of the pin and the position of the clamp are corrected so that the length of the section between the clamp and the edge of the bone becomes equal to the distance from the top of the pin to the edge of the femoral head, and thereafter the pin is indented at the level of the clamp.

EFFECT: method makes it possible to correctly position pins for osteosynthesis in the femoral neck, to eliminate the threat of excessive insertion or under-insertion of the pin into the femoral head.
