SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to methods for producing compositions (variants) intended for forming a solid transparent coating on the surface of metal products, metal alloys, plastic, wood, and concrete. According to one of the options, a method for obtaining a protective coating composition includes mixing with hydrolyzed deionized water in an amount of 7.6–8.0% by weight including in the presence of an acid catalyst mixture of gamma-(2,3-epoxypropoxy) propyltrimethoxysilane and tetraethoxysilane in the amount of 48.2–50.6% by weight and Sol silicic acid in the amount of 28–30.2% by weight., containing activated acetic acid added in the amount of 6.7–7.0% by weight, particles of silicon dioxide with an initial concentration of SiO2 in silica sol 490–520 g/l, ensuring the process of polycondensation of hydrolyzed silanes on micelles of silicon dioxide with the creation of an organo-inorganic associative system based on silicon dioxide, the introduction of a thermal curing initiator in an amount of 0.05–0.1% by weight and ethanol to 7.6–8.4% by weight.
EFFECT: production of coatings with high adhesion to the surface and high resistance to scratching, abrasion, chemical resistance to acids and organic solvents.
