FIELD: gas turbine engines.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of control of gas turbine engines, in particular, to methods for protecting gas turbine engines from overheating at startup. The method for protecting the turbine of a gas turbine engine from overheating at startup consists in measuring the temperature of gases downstream of the turbine of a gas turbine engine TT using open-junction thermocouples and closed-junction thermocouples, forming a limit value for the temperature of gases downstream of the turbine at startup TTUNIT start, comparison of gas temperature TT, measured using open junction thermocouples, with the limit value TTUNIT start, short-term interruption of fuel supply GT to the combustion chamber of the engine at start-up when TT, measured using open junction thermocouples, is exceeding TTUNIT start, switching on the ignition unit for a predetermined time, resumption of reduced fuel supply GT to the combustion chamber after the gas temperature TT, measured using an open-junction thermocouple block, is lower than the limit value TTUNIT start, wherein for each type of gas turbine engine the difference A between the values of temperature gases TT at start-up, measured using open-junction thermocouples and closed-junction thermocouples is additionally determined in advance, further in the process of starting a gas turbine engine the serviceability of open-junction thermocouples is determined, in case of failure of open-junction thermocouples, measurement of gas temperature at start-up is performed using thermocouples with a closed junction, wherein the limit value of the gas temperature at the start TTUNIT start is reduced by the value A, equal to 50…150 °C, and stopping of the fuel supply GT to the combustion chamber of the engine is carried out for the time of TT measured using thermocouples with a closed junction at start-up exceeding the value of TTUNIT start - A.
