SUBSTANCE: method is proposed for removing the self-incompatibility of the S-RNase type in Petunia hybrida L., which consists in treating the surface of the style with 5 mcl of a solution of the caspase-3 inhibitor Ac-DEVD-CHO at a concentration of 0.25 mM 2 hours before self-incompatible pollination.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to prevent programmed cell death in self-incompatible pollen tubes, remove S-RNase-type self-incompatibility in petunia and obtain petunia seeds by self-incompatible pollination.
