FIELD: agriculture.

SUBSTANCE: device for cutting water-absorbing slots filled with straw comprises a frame (1) with a slot cutter (2) installed on it in the form of a vertical rack (5) with a deformer (6) movably connected by means of axes, and guides (3) in the form of rakes (4). By means of a hinged-lever mechanism (8) with a pretensioner (9), a closing working body in the form of a freely rotating disk (7) is attached to the deformer (6). The rotating disc (7) is made corrugated with a width (S) of 0.8-1.0 of the width of the slot being cut and has radial windows (10) along a radius smaller than the radius of the disc (7) by 1/2-1/3 of the operation depth (h) of the disk (7). Windows (10) are made from the side (11) from the axis of rotation to the side (12) on the outer generatrix of the corrugation. The side (12) on the outer generatrix of the corrugation is made with sharpening from the side of the wall of the slot being cut. The radial width (m) of the windows (10) is equal to the width of the slot being cut.

EFFECT: reduced evaporation of soil moisture through water-absorbing gaps filled with straw.
