SUBSTANCE: hydraulic distribution devices that regulate the flow parameters in a specific channel of the hydraulic system, as part of a hydraulic circuit of a proportional hydraulic drive. It consists of a prefabricated control unit with a hollow rectangular spool and high-precision cut-off edges of the passthrough ports and its method of operation. At the same time, the prefabricated control unit with a hollow rectangular spool and high-precision cut-off edges of the passthrough ports includes a body and a spool, wherein the body is assembled in the form of four connected distribution plates, the spool has a hollow structure, while the passthrough ports of the distribution plates and the corresponding passthrough ports of the hollow rectangular spool are in the same X-Y plane. The method for operation of the prefabricated control unit with a hollow rectangular spool is that hydraulic fluid is supplied under pressure to the cavity of the receiving distribution plate, then the fluid flow is dosed by the cut-off edge of the passthrough port of the hollow spool, passes through its internal volume and is dosed by the cut-off edges of the passthrough ports of the hollow spool, distributing into one or more receiving cavities of the control unit plates.

EFFECT: provision of proportional high-precision dosing (control) of the hydraulic fluid flow in a particular channel; accurate coordinate formation of the internal faces of the spool cavity and windows for the passage of hydraulic fluid; structurally incorporated patterns of flow characteristics (proportional, exponential, etc.); exact coordinate location of cut-off edges; the possibility of executing the shape of the cut-off edge in accordance with the function of the characteristic flow rate of the control unit; performing complex multi-position switching.
