FIELD: medicine; ophthalmology.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for differential diagnosis of choroidal melanoma (MX) of central localization and late stage of age-related macular degeneration (AMD). In the lacrimal fluid of the diseased eye, the content of cytokines MCP-1/CCL2 and Eotaxin/CCL11 is determined. At the level of MCP-1/CCL2 equal to 122 pg/ml and above, and Eotaxin/CCL11 equal to 8.5 pg/ml and above, MX of the central localization is diagnosed. At a concentration of MCP-1/CCL2 less than 122 pg/ml and Eotaxin/CCL11 less than 8.5 pg/ml, late AMD is diagnosed.
EFFECT: method enables selection of an adequate method of treatment in accordance with the diagnosis by determining the level of cytokines MCP-1/CCL2 and Eotaxin/CCL11 in the lacrimal fluid of the affected eye.
