FIELD: computer technology.

SUBSTANCE: method for identifying a user using trajectory of cursor movement, which consists in performing the steps at which, using a computing device, the user's credentials are registered in the system, the user identifier corresponding to the credentials is assigned, the trajectory of the mouse cursor is analysed throughout the entire session of the identified user, for each position of the cursor mice vertical and horizontal coordinates of the mouse cursor and the time stamp are recorded, the sequence of mouse cursor coordinates and the corresponding timestamps are saved, the recorded sequence is analysed to find the points to split the mouse cursor trajectory into fragments, a list of fragments of the cursor trajectory during the session of a given user is formed, for each fragment of the cursor trajectory, a set of predetermined features is calculated and stored in the database, at least one trained classifier for further confirmation of the user's identity is applied.

EFFECT: automatic identification of the user using cursor trajectory.
