FIELD: chromatography.
SUBSTANCE: integrated microfluidic photoionization detector (PID), containing a microfluidic ionization chamber and a microfluidic ultraviolet radiation chamber capable of generating ultraviolet photons. An ultra-thin transmission window is located between the microfluidic ionization chamber and the microfluidic ultraviolet radiation chamber for the passage of ultraviolet photons from the microfluidic ultraviolet radiation chamber to the microfluidic ionization chamber. Also, the system for detecting one or more VOC analytes is proposed, which includes a gas chromatography (GC) block containing at least one gas chromatography column, and an integrated microfluidic photoionization detector (PID) located after the gas chromatography (GC) block.
