FIELD: internal combustion engines.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in testing and technical diagnostics of machines, in particular internal combustion engines. A method to assess uneven operation of the cylinders of an internal combustion engine, which consists in preparing the engine for testing. Force transducers (1) are installed in the engine mounts. A measuring device (4) is connected to the force transducers (1), the standard sensor (2) of the crankshaft speed and the standard sensor (3) of the camshaft position. Tests are carried out with recording of controlled parameters. The forces on the engine mounts are recorded at the minimum stable idling speed with a period of 2 degrees. The force values are compared with the piston position of the corresponding cylinder at the top dead center at the beginning of the combustion and expansion stroke. The maximum force values on the combustion and expansion strokes and the minimum force values on the compression stroke of each cylinder are determined. Calculations are carried out to obtain the non-uniformity coefficient, the obtained value of the coefficient is compared with the nominal value and a conclusion is made about uneven operation of the internal combustion engine cylinders.
EFFECT: reduced complexity of diagnostics.
