FIELD: test technology.
SUBSTANCE: when performing tests under operating conditions, engine is prepared, primary transducers (strain gauges) are installed in supports, and sensor of position of distribution shaft is connected to housing of engine, to which measuring device is connected. Technical state of air supply system is checked, engine is started and heated to rated temperature of coolant and oil, fuel supply is stopped and engine is stopped. When assessing technical condition of cylinder-and-piston group of gasoline engines, ignition coils are disconnected and air and throttle valves are opened. Then, the starter is turned on and the crankshaft of the engine is driven with starting frequency, wherein the measuring device records the forces occurring on the engine supports at the end of the compression stroke of each cylinder separately, summing the maximum values of the measured forces and calculating the average over the supports for at least three operating cycles of the engine, the maximum value from the calculated average forces is taken as the nominal value, is compared with maximum average values of forces of other cylinders and conclusion is made on technical condition of cylinder-and-piston group as a whole.
EFFECT: reduced labour input and faster diagnosis.
