FIELD: engines; testing.

SUBSTANCE: method for evaluation of non-uniformity of operation of internal combustion engine cylinders consists in preparing the engine for testing. Force transducers (1) are installed in supports. Measuring device (3) is connected to force transducers (1) and standard sensor (2) of crankshaft rotation frequency. Engine is started and warmed up. Then tests are carried out, in which the controlled parameters are recorded. When testing the engine in operating conditions, increasing the fuel supply to the cylinders accelerates the engine to the maximum crankshaft rotation speed. Engine is loaded to the value corresponding to rated rotation speed of crankshaft at maximum fuel supply. Instantaneous values of reactions of supports are recorded with period of 2 degrees of crankshaft turn for at least five working cycles of the engine. Then the engine is unloaded by increasing the crankshaft rotation speed to the maximum value. First cylinder is switched off, the engine is loaded to the rated rotation speed of the crankshaft at full supply of fuel only to the operating cylinders and the measurements of instantaneous values of reactions of the supports are repeated. Further, instantaneous values of reactions of supports are measured in the same way during operation of the engine with the second, third and subsequent cylinders disconnected. Obtained instantaneous values of reactions of the supports are used to determine average values for one working cycle separately during operation of the engine on all cylinders and with the corresponding cylinder disconnected. Then, average values of reactions of supports are calculated for at least five working cycles. Difference between average values of reactions of supports during operation of the engine on all cylinders and average values of reactions of supports during operation of the engine with a disconnected corresponding cylinder is determined. Maximum and minimum values of support reaction difference are set. Non-uniformity coefficient is calculated, the obtained value of the coefficient of non-uniformity is compared with the nominal value and a conclusion is made on non-uniformity of operation of cylinders of the internal combustion engine.
