FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to agglomerate abrasive grains and proposes an agglomerate abrasive grain consisting of a plurality of individual abrasive grains that are bonded in an inorganic or organic binder matrix, and, based on the total mass of the agglomerate abrasive grain, at least 8% by mass of the abrasive grains that are bonded in the binder matrix are polycrystalline aluminium oxide abrasive grains based on aluminium oxide with a percentage of more than 97% by mass of alpha alumina, and while polycrystalline alumina abrasive grains, in turn, consist of many primary crystals of Al2O3 with a crystal size between 20 and 100 mcm. The agglomerate abrasive grain has a closed macroporosity with a pore volume between 5 and 30% by volume, the average pore diameter of the closed macropores being between 10 and 100 microns.
EFFECT: use of the proposed agglomerate abrasive grain allows to increase the efficiency and reduce the wear of the grinding belts.
